I was commissioned by Brighton’s West Pier Trust to photograph remnants of the pier

I wanted to show hints of the barn where they were being stored so I created a stage using pallets

I used studio lighting to add to the dramatic feel

The influence of these details is thought to have come from Brighton’s Royal Pavilion.

$Although there are hundreds of pieces in storage, it’s only a fraction of the original pier.$

For this series, I was photographing fragments that were on sale in the West Pier Centre

I was keen to make a visual link between the fragments and the pier
